Hey! Happy Holidays, everyone! We’re excited to share a few things as we move toward 2026!
Lawrence County 4-H Volunteer Training has been set for Saturday, January 10th from 11-1pm at Chesapeake Elementary School! Lunch will be served! All 4-H volunteers must receive yearly training to remain a 4-H volunteer, deadline to complete this training is March 15th! We encourage all to attend on the 10th, but makeup dates will be announced! Please rsvp here!
Also, our Lawrence County 4-H Teen Leaders are adding a Leadership Workshop for youth interested taking on a leadership role, such as an officer position within their club, during the 4-H Volunteer Training, 11 – 1pm at Chesapeake Elementary. This is open to any 4-H aged youth, 8 and 3rd grade or older! Please rsvp here!
Camp Counselor Applications are now available! Youth, 14 and older, who are interested in being a camp counselor must complete the application by February 1. Applications can be found at go.osu.edu/alpcampcounselorapp
- When considering this opportunity, please note 4-H camp is May 29 – June 1; there may be other camps available to council but this is our Adams, Lawrence, Pike 4-H Camp week! Also, camp counselors must have 12+ hours of camp counselor training! We will have some county specific dates, but counselors should strongly consider Counselor College at Canter’s Cave, March 14th – 15th and/or Making Extreme Counselors (MXC) February 28th – March 1st in Columbus. Registration for MXC is due January 26th, cost is $65 – registration form can be found here: 2026 MXC Registration
Market Turkey Order Forms are now available! If you plan to exhibit a Market Turkey at the 2026 Lawrence County Fair, you will need to order them by February 15th through our office. Order forms can be found at: Market Turkey Order FormĀ
Reminders
- Market Beef Tag-in is scheduled for December 13th, 9-10am! If the snow moves in like forecasted – we may be postponing; please watch your email and our @lawrence4H facebook for updates – a decision will be made by 7am Saturday! If you are tagging on your own and submitting in 4-Honline, your animal ID is due through 4-HOnline by 10am on Saturday, December 13th!
- 4-Honline Member and Volunteer Enrollment is now open! All members and volunteers must be enrolled by March 15th! To do so, visit oh.4honline.com
- 4-H Volunteer Rescreening Due February 15th! Volunteers who are needing rescreened need to complete their BCI by February 15th! Those who need it this year should have received an email as notice to complete!
- Adults interested volunteering should visit Lawrence County 4-H Volunteer Information for the application and other materials needed to become a volunteer. Interested volunteers need to complete the application by February 28th!
