Project Judging & Upcoming Jr Fair Update

Hi All!

Here are some reminders as we enter the home stretch before Judging!

Judging Schedule for Livestock & Still Projects can be found at: https://u.osu.edu/henry4h/project-judging-skillathons/

LIVESTOCK SKILLATHONS=

Livestock Skillathon Kits will NOT be rented out after July 1 – if you choose to practice our full-sized kits, you will need to make an appointment to come in and practice at the office.

Keep in mind there are study guides at the link above & the 2024 Rubrics for this year are also listed (it is the same material as last year).

THINGS DUE BEFORE/AT SKILLATHON…

***The goal is to have the “Traffic Flow” at fair available to hand to families DURING SKILLTHONS! (hang in there guys, I’m working on it… I may still have a graphic ready for you to access today!)***

STILL-PROJECT JUDGING=

Keep in mind we have tips & tricks you can check out to make your Judging a little easier at: https://u.osu.edu/henry4h/resources/still-project-resources/

Be sure to cross reference your Still-Project Handbook to make sure you have “all” of your items ready for judging.

Also keep in mind our Project Grade Guidelines (no longer A, B, C) this is located on page 8 of the Still-Project Handbook.

Hi Families!

Thanks to all that have gotten your FairEntries done! A few reminders as tomorrow is the deadline…

  • Here is a video on completing the FairEntries since I will be unavilable tomorrow. FairEntry made a few changes since I made this video, but it is all generally the same
    • Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIrz7PyXYrI&t=1s
    • FairEntry Link: http://henry-countyohio.fairentry.com/
      • Enter using the 4-HOnline “Green Button” Log-on
    • BE SURE YOU HAVE SIGNED UP FOR SHOWMANSHIP! I’m seeing LOTS of entries that do not have Showmanship Added!
      • You can verify if you have/have not signed up by looking at the FairEntry Confirmation email.
      • PLEASE don’t email me asking if you’re signed up! Check out your emails, if it’s not there, just log back in to FairEntry & sign up!
  • Thanks to the families that hopped on the New Camp Family Zoom last night! We had some great questions about what to expect, so be sure to check out the recording. There WILL be one more reminder email going out on Monday, so stay tuned for that!

Have a Happy Weekend!
