What’s NEW when it comes to Club Finances?

Financial Management of your 4-H club is a big responsibility & priority in our Community Clubs!

CLUB FINANCIAL MANAGER HANDOUT

THIS YEAR (2023): ALL clubs will be REQUIRED to turn in Treasurer’s Books AND Secretary’s Books! (in September)

Why?

  • Ohio 4-H’s goal is in 2024, every county program is running consistent “audits” of their clubs & their financial records. Only 1/3 of the clubs in the county will undergo an audit at a time & will therefore rotate every year.
  • The practice of auditing protects the club or affiliate and the treasurer themselves.
  • More information will become available as we organize a procedure for Henry County 4-H, but please don’t panic!
    • Now that you have [most] officers elected, be sure to emphasize the importance of keeping quality records!
    • It was discussed throughly at Officer Training!
  • Feel free to reach out to me with any questions on the matter.
    • Again, we will not start completing audits until 2024.
    • BUT we will collect & REQUIRE ALL Treasurer & Secretary Books to be submitted to the Office in September 2023.
