Pickup Your ‘Chili with Beef’ Cookbook, HOT Off the Press!

Yes, that’s right, the recipes for all 33 entries in last year’s Championship of the County, Chili Cookoff with Beef are now published in the first ever Fairfield County Cattlemen’s cookbook! Simply stop by Bay Food Market on the corner of South Maple and Walnut Streets in Lancaster and ask for your FREE copy. They’re open 8 AM – 6 PM Monday thru Saturday, except for Thursday’s when they close at noon.0829161452a

And don’t forget, you only have until September 26 to make your entry for the 2016 Chili with Beef Cookoff. This year’s event will again be held in the Rickett’s Hall beginning at 2:00 p.m. on October 13, 2016 and is open to all Fairfield County residents.

To enter, the recipe should include beef as the only meat, plus no more than 12 additional ingredients (this is an increase of ingredients over last year). Find the rest of the entry details linked here.

Entries must be made through the Fairfield County Senior Fair Board office on the Fairgrounds using the normal “open class” entry procedure. Enter Class #118 in Entry Book 40, found on page 60 of the Fairfield County Fair Entry Book. Senior Fair Entry Books may be picked up at the Fair Board office located on the Fairgrounds, or found linked here. The entry form may be found in the back of the Fair Entry Book.

In addition to the $375 in prize money listed in the Fair Book, the Cattlemen have recently decided to award something extra to the highest placing chili entered by youth of high school age and under!
