29th Annual Banquet a Huge Success!

More than 100 local cattlemen and cattlewomen, young cattle producers, and beef cattle enthusiasts enjoyed the 29th annual Fairfield County Cattlemen’s Association Banquet and Annual meeting last Saturday evening. The fellowship enjoyed a banquet meal of beef tips and gravy over noodles, along with redskin potatoes, green beans and salad!

Wildfire Relief; Cattlemen are asking, “What can we do to help?”

By now you’re well aware of the devastating wildfires that destroyed most everything in their path on a million and a half acres across the states surrounding the Oklahoma panhandle. It goes without saying our thoughts and prayers are with the families that have suffered from the destruction of life and property resulting from these fires. Many have asked what can be done to help.

Ohio Beef Expo Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Over the past 30 years, the Ohio Beef Expo has become Ohio’s premier beef industry event. This year’s edition will take place beginning next Friday, March 17-19 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus. This annual event, coordinated by the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association (OCA), includes a kickoff social, breed sales, cattle shows and displays, an educational seminar, 3-day trade show and a highly competitive junior show.

45 Youth Tag Market Beef for the 2017 Fairfield County Jr. Fair

Gavin Geiger of the Liberty Union FFA was one of the early birds at weigh-in Saturday morning!

On March 4, forty five 4-H and FFA members weighed in a total of 65 beef feeder calves in preparation for the 2017 Fairfield County finished market beef junior show. Of the 65 head tagged in on Saturday, 7 were heifers and 38 were bred, born and raised here in Fairfield County. Several Fairfield County Cattlemen Association and Senior Fair Board members volunteered with tagging, weighing and nose printing each of the calves at the Fairfield Cattle Company in Canal Winchester.
