The Fairfield County Cattlemen are looking for the very best Chili that’s made with beef in Fairfield County! In order to find out, all County residents are invited to participate in the first ever Chili Cook Off with Beef! The contest is being held during the Fair on Thursday October 15, 2015, in the Ricketts Hall beginning at 2:00 p.m. This open class Fair event is open to county residents and sponsored by the Fairfield County Cattlemen’s Association. Cash prizes totaling $375 will be awarded to the top five places.

Again this year our local cattlemen will be working a shift (or more if there’s enough interested!) in the Cattlemen’s Beef Stand at the Ohio State Fair. This year the group will be volunteering in the Food Pavilion location on August 7 beginning at 10:30 a.m. and working until 3 p.m. Those who participate will receive a free ticket to the Fair, and lunch. The Fairfield County Cattlemen will once again be front and center during the annual “Taste” of Agriculture. This year’s event will be held at the Home of Joy horse farm on Lake Road near Lancaster. Last year’s event featured most every agriculture commodity grown in the county, and was enjoyed by more than 500 attendees.
