Explore the Outdoors with Adams County 4-H!

Join us as we Explore Adams! Adams County 4-H will once again offer an Explore the Outdoors SPIN (SPecial INterest) club where youth will meet this spring exploring our Great Outdoors through hiking our local nature preserves. Guest speakers and specialists in their fields will participate to add to the educational experience for our youth. We will provide hands on learning about Birds, Insects, Wildlife, Plants, Trees, Streams, Conservation and Preservation.
Open to any youth 8 years old and in the 3rd grade or 9 years old in any grade and up to 18 years as of January 1st. Registration deadline – April 1, 2023. Sign up today at go.osu.edu/ExploreAdams. Saturday April 8th at Highlands Nature Sanctuary – Appalachian Forest Museum1:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Educational program by the Arc at the Museum, afternoon guided hikes.

Tuesday April 11th at Ohio River Bluffs, Manchester, Ohio
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Amazing Spring Flower hike overlooking the Ohio River

5:00 PM – 9:00 PM – Just enjoying nature and hiking the new North Gorge Trail followed by campfire and smores.

Bats with Andrea Jaeger, Arc of Appalachia- 7 PM – Dusk

Sunday May 21st at Quiverheart Gorge Preserve
1:00 PM – 4:00PM – Explore Stream Biology with Kelly Capuzzi – get to know creatures of our streams.

Saturday June 3rd at Kamama Prairie
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM Trees, Butterflies, and Insects with Naturalist John Howard.

Chaparral Prairie near West Union – (date to be determined)
8:00 PM – An evening of Moths and nocturnal insects led by Katie King of the Division of Natural Areas and Preserves with John Howard.
