During our first meeting of 2020, we had the pleasure of listening to our club advisor, Shawn Gilbert, from the Ohio State College of Optometry.
Shawn gave us a walkthrough of the new clinic being built on the corner of 11th and Neil avenues. The clinic will be housed on the first through third floors of the new building. He also showcased renderings for the renovations that will be occurring in and around Fry Hall and the nearby area. There will be updated academic, study, and gathering spaces available for Optometry students, such as new anatomy lab classrooms and a glass atrium opening up from Hamilton Hall. A bar building will also be constructed that will conveniently connect Fry Hall with the new interdisciplinary health sciences area. The renovations are projected to take place as soon as the new clinic is finished being built.
