Concept Screening and Scoring

Purpose: The purpose during this phase of the research was to eliminate some AEV designs that did not fit the company’s vision. In order to do that a concept screening and scoring was used.

Concept screening
Quick way to determine which AEV the group should continue and develop. 0 means the design is neutral to the AEV, plus sign mean it is better than the sample AEV and a negative sign means that it is worse than an AEV. We would then tally up the scores and determine which design we should continue to develop. In the end we determine we should continue with design A,B, and E. We would continue eliminate AEV designs using concept scoring.

Concept scoring
This is more an in-depth way to decide which AEV design we should focus on in the future. The group gave their opinions on which categories that they wanted heavy emphasis on. Each category has a percentage weight and the AEVs are rated on a scale from 1-5 on how well the AEV perform on that category. The weighted scores are then added up and the two AEV with the highest score will be continued to be developed.
