Creative Design Thinking

Purpose: The purpose of this research, was to design multiple AEV models it see what each group member have in mind on the final design of the project. Using these design, the group then could express what features are important to them.
Concept A (Sam)

Explanation: Hammer head design. Place great emphasis on stability and getting from point a to point b safely. Designed a hood up in the front, to allow better aerodynamics and less drag.

Concept B (Nathan)

Explanation: Orienting the AEV side ways, thus less surface area would be in contact with the air. With less contact with air, it means that it will have less drag and overall have a more efficient AEV.

Concept C (Max)

Explanation: Simple design with three engines and a lot of propellors. Wanted to get from point a to b the quickest, might take hit in energy efficiency.

Concept D (Isiah)

Explanation: Liked sample AEV design, just modified it for more power, by adding more engines to the design.

Concept E (Combined)

Explanation: Our grouped really liked Sam’s AEV design, thus we use his design as the base and built upon it with features that we like from other AEVs that were designed. For example, instead of using two motors like the sample AEV, the group decided that they would like more engines in the AEV, thus another one was added to the bottom. The team also adjusted the corners of the AEV and instead of the straight edges, they rounded off the edges for better aerodynamics.
