Join OSU Extension Brown County on Friday March 29, 2024, from 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m. to become certified to apply fertilizer. Producers that attend this meeting will fulfill the three-hour requirement for applicators who need the agricultural fertilizer applicator certification. Producers that attend this training will NOT need to take the ODA test.
Who should attend? Fertilizer certification is required if you apply fertilizer (other than manure) to more than 50 acres of agricultural production grown primarily for sale. If you hire a co-op or other custom applicator to make your fertilizer applications, you do not need the certification. This training is for private and commercial applicators.
What will be covered? Best management practices will be the basis of the agricultural fertilizer certification training with a focus on fetilizer applications that have the appropriate rate, timing, placement and source.
Producers wishing to attend can fill out and mail in the registration form (below) and $30 fee to OSU Extension Brown County 325 W. State St. Bldg B., Georgetown, OH 45121.
