Primary Means of Communication and Expectations
All members will be expected to read the designated group message and respond by the end of the day on which the message was originally sent, or as soon as possible.
Scheduling of Meetings
The team agrees, by the end of either lecture or lab, to set meeting times and create a general agenda before the next class and for the next group meeting. Team members will take turns scheduling and sending out text reminders of the meeting with a general focus within eight hours after class, before the next meeting. Not all members have to be in attendance but a valid excuse is needed.
General Responsibilities for All Team Members
This element of the team working agreement is the list of rules/agreements or the contract that all members agrees to live by.
Statements:
– Be prepared for class.
– If you will not be attendance inform the group before hand.
– Notify other members of work done on projects.
– Reach out for help if member needs it.
– Check with other members before handing in group work.
– Stay true to time constraints.
– Divide the work fairly and be sure that everyone participates equally.
– Complete assigned tasks on time.
– Be on time to all meetings.
– Notify other team members ahead of time in case of absence from a meeting.
– Discuss any problems with other members or with class as they come up.
– Respect each other’s ideas.
Specific Team Member Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities:
Depending on the issue at hand the member with the most experience in the topic has more say in the discussion. Each member will have unique responsibilities depending on the aspect of the project at hand. It is also the responsibility of all members to confront a member who is lacking in their workload.
Conflict Resolution
When a problem arises within the group these are the steps we will take to address said problem.
- Discuss problem within the group
- If group discussion fails bring up problem to a professor or GTA
- Hold a team discussion of the problem with a GTA or Professor to find a solution and have them make the final decision
7) Expectations of Faculty and GTA’s
Suggested Statement:
If a team member fails to live up to this agreement, the situation may be reported to the staff, but the team will still be responsible for submitting a completed assignment. Staff will be available to meet with teams to resolve issues.
