Performance Tests

Code for all performance tests can be found under the Arduino Code tab.

Performance Test 1

Goal- Have the AEV start in the correct position and then go up the ramp to the gate and wait for 7 seconds for the gate to open. The second sensor should not be triggered or else the gate will not open. Finally the AEV should go through the gate.

Result- Team M had no issues with the first performance test and did it perfectly.

Performance Test 2

Goal- Repeat the steps of performance test 1 and keep going to the loading zone on the other side of the track and attach to the caboose. The AEV should wait for 5 seconds before leaving the loading zone with the caboose. The front wheel of theĀ  AEV should not actually enter the loading zone when attaching to the caboose.

Result- Team M had no issues with the second performance test and did it perfectly.

Final Performance TestĀ

Goal- Repeat the steps of performance test 2 and repeat the gate procedure from performance test 1 with the caboose and AEV returning to the starting area. Finally the front wheel of the AEV should go past the starting line but not any farther. Teams have three opportunities to run the performance test.

Result- In the first attempt the AEV did not end in the right area. The AEV used 232 joules and took 59 seconds to complete the test.

In the second attempt the AEV did not trigger the sensor to open the gate so the sensor had to be triggered manually. The AEV also did not end in the right area. The AEV used 232 joules and took 60 seconds to complete the test.

In the third attempt the AEV did not trigger the sensor to open the gate so the sensor had to be triggered manually. The AEV also did not end in the right area. The AEV used 230 joules and took 60 seconds to complete the test.
