The purpose of pR&D 1 (programming basics) was to learn the components of the AEV such as the battery and Arduino and also help the team get an idea of how to code using the Arduino sketchbook. This was done by first downloading the sketchbook off of Carmen. Then the sketchbook was opened and a sample scenario was coded and uploaded to the Arduino. Below is are the basic function calls for the Arduino that were tested during pR&D 1.
