Excellence in 4-H Award Nominations

Do you have an outstanding youth in your club that you would like to recognize? We are asking 4-H advisors to nominate outstanding members who are 17 years and older last year 4-H members for the Excellence in 4-H Award. This is our most prestigious award given to a youth at the county level. A member should be active in local 4-H activities and demonstrated leadership abilities at the club and county levels. Please return the nomination form to the Extension Office no later than September 1, 2021. Nominees will be sent applications to fill out and those who return them will be interviewed by a selection committee. The winners will be announced at the 4-H Recognition Banquet in November. Click here to download a nomination form.

Sheep Carcass Contest Changes

Attention carcass lamb exhibitors! The carcass lambs will now be going to 3-D Custom Meats at 14740 Lincoln Way East, Dalton for processing instead of Boliantz Packing. The lambs will be delivered there after the live show on Saturday, August 28th. The carcass results show will be taking place at 3-D Meats on September 1st at 6:00 PM. 3-D Meats has been very gracious in offering to do this for us on short notice, and are willing to do the same standard cut on the lambs for the same cost as Boliantz Packing has in the past. If you have any questions, please call the Extension Office at 330-264-8722.

Livestream Camera Operators Needed

Interested in helping at this year’s fair?  Since we plan to live-stream all livestock shows, we will be needing volunteer camera operators for the live streams.  All equipment and training will be provided. We are currently offering mostly three-hour shifts, but you are free to sign up for multiple shifts if you wish. Once you sign up you will receive a confirmation email and more instructions closer to fair. Click here to sign up for a time slot!
