Ohio State Parks

Welcome to the Ohio State Parks & the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.  In 1949, Ohio began creating the parks to preserve and protect the natural wonders of the state.   Many of the parks were developed from reservoirs originally created to provide water for the Ohio Canal system.  A variety of classes, activities and events draw visitors outside to hike, bird watch, swim or horseback ride.  Regular access to green space is good for mental health!

So, whether you are looking for a solo stroll, grabbing your best friend for a run or a good place to picnic, check out this storymap for an Ohio State Park near you!
