Do you like to wander through old town centers? In earlier times, many cities liked to have a bird’s eye view of the local geography for posterity.
The Library of Congress has created a map of their Panoramic Cities.
Feel like strolling around New York before the Statue of Liberty arrived?
How about visiting Chicago before the Great Fire of 1871? Or San Francisco before the 1906 Earthquake?
While most of the maps are from across the U.S., there are a few in Canada and if you look carefully, you will find a map of Liverpool, Great Britain and Port Arthur (China).
Closer to home, there are maps from Columbus, Dayton, Toledo and Cleveland plus other Ohio Cities.
So, take a break from studying and roam through some very different landscapes…
