The Digital National Security Archive has many alternative titles including: The Berlin Crisis, 1958–1962, The Cuban Missile Crisis, 1962, and U.S. Military Uses of Space, 1945-1991. It is part of the ProQuest platform of databases. Covering history and politics from the 1940’s to the 2000’s, the DNSA allows the researcher inside documents like the U.S President’s Daily Brief. Both basic and advanced searching is available, but a neat feature allows Browsing through the reference materials of each collection. Under the About tab, you will find thumbnail descriptions of each included collection. Using the advanced search with “maps” gives 636 results. The citations’ title generally say (includes MAPS). But a really good one is “Maps of Cuban Overflights, August – October 1962”. Complete details are included as well as a list of suggested resources and a subject search index.
