Associate Professor, The Ohio State University
Dr. Arnold is a physiatrist, or a specialist trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with subspecialty in neuromuscular medicine. He works with patients who are dealing with disorders that affect their muscles, peripheral nerves, motor neurons or neuromuscular junctions. Dr. Arnold’s lab is focused on translational neuromuscular physiology of genetic disorders of muscle, nerve and the motor neuron, as well as aging-related loss of physical function. A major focus of his preclinical lab work is the investigation of motor neuron dysfunction as a key mechanism of loss of function during aging. He has ongoing clinical trials in muscle hyperexcitability disorders (dystrophic and non-dystrophic myotonias) and in loss of physical function related to aging.
