Performance Tests

Performance Test 1

During Performance Test 1, after testing both AEV ideas, it was determined that the balanced AEV with two motors would be the best design. Both AEV’s were run on the same performance test 1 code (found in PT Codes). The lightweight AEV with one motor used less power but could not complete the task of performance one as required like the balanced AEV could. As it is seen on the graph below, the blue line represents the lightweight AEV and the orange line is the balanced AEV. The lightweight AEV looks like it completed the same distance, but in reality, it only made it about 5 feet and had to be manually pushed to complete the AEV code.

Final Performance Test

The AEV successfully completed the final performance test. The only difficulty encountered during final testing was a mechanical problem with the reflectance sensors that forced the AEV to run strictly on time and no longer on distance. This setback was overcome and the AEV surpassed expectations.
