Strengths

  • The AEV is relatively fast compared to other AEVs that were designed.

  • It also is a very smooth ride with no abrupt stops along the entire track.

How?

The AEV takes a total time of around 53 seconds to travel from one end of the track to the other and back. This is with stops at the gate on both the way to the loading zone and back to the start. Along with a 5 second pause after picking up the caboose. Our design uses power braking to cut back on time while maintaining accuracy.

Our AEV is extremely safe. Our design had no safety violations. Our design also barely moved the caboose at all whilst picking it up. This is because of accuracy and strategic planning.

Our AEV runs extremely smooth. From the use of power braking to slow the AEV to a stop, and coasting to also stop the AEV, the AEV has no abrupt stops. This leads to a smooth ride for the user.

The cost of the AEV was about $569,250. This cost was the second lowest that we have seen making it extremely affordable. Our AEV is this cheap because of our extremely simple design. We also strategically used coasting to cut down on energy cost for some parts of the run.
