Energy Analysis Lab Team N

 ⚙ Energy Analysis Lab

In the Energy Analysis Lab, the team of engineers performed three trial runs of a sample code with the AEV.  Some amount of error can be seen in the speed vs time charts below.  In all three charts, it can be seen that the AEV experiences zero speed for the first ~1/5 of a second.  The AEV then experiences a sharp acceleration.  On the distance graphs, during the same time interval as the spikes on the acceleration graphs, the curvature of the graph increases most rapidly.  The brief moment of zero speed is due to  lag in the motors and the spikes in speed afterward are due to internal resistance within the system.  Unfortunately, within the scope of AR&D this error cannot be corrected for because the team is limited to a single motor design.  The team of engineers plans to use an alternate method of propulsion to attempt to mitigate this error.

A second potential source of error in testing would be battery drain.  The team is not sure on whether or not this has a significant impact on the AEV runs.  The team plans to consult UTAs and other teams to determine battery drain significance.

The team successfully completed the lab without additional guidance by utilizing the provided model excel sheet to make calculations.
