Columbus has recently won $50 Million in grant money for “Smart City Columbus”. This project aims to improve safety, enhance mobility, increase opportunities, and address climate change. With this grant money Columbus needs a new Advanced Energy Vehicle to meet the demands of the new smart city. Our company: Baker International has come up with three separate design prototypes for consideration.
These AEVs are small (< 500grams), autonomous, electric motor powered, propeller driven vehicles that are suspended from and maneuver along a monorail track. These prototypes are going to represent going to pick up people from a pre-determined location. Then their job is to take those people to another part of the city. These prototypes will represent this by picking up a magnet and transporting it down a track.
