Design Evolution

The design initially used in the pR&D phase of the project was a sample AEV that is designed by the engineering department shown below.

This design is very basic and works for the team to learn to use the equipment and program the arduino, but there is a lot to be improved upon for this design. At the end of pR&D each team member developed a design of their own which are shown below.

After the team had created their individual drawings they did design screening and scoring matrices to determine which designs to continue testing with. The team decided on Chris’ design to continue with for the aR&D phase shown below.

After the aR&D phase the group made adjustments based on the findings to increase efficiency shown below.

This is the final design used by the team in the final performance test to complete the full track.
