⚙ Approach to Mission Concept  ⚙

Awarded a $50 million dollar grant from the City of Columbus, Baker International is taking on a project to improve the transportation methods to and from the city to surrounding towns and suburbs. This includes improvements and advancements in safety, energy efficiency, and traveling standards. Baker International will utilize the funds provided by Columbus to create an AEV (Advanced Energy Vehicle) that meets the needs for “Smart City Columbus”.

 ⚙ Prototype Design & Research ⚙

To create an AEV that best suits the demands from Columbus to be a “Smart City”, Baker International will create a prototype for the project. This prototype for the final design incorporates one, small motor powered via battery, Arduino code that executes actions for the motor to follow, and a 3D-printed wheel that is to be used as an alternate method of propulsion and a braking system. To simulate picking people up to and from Columbus, magnets will be placed on the AEV for purpose of added drag and weight — this constraint will be kept in mind when planning for the AEV returning to its original location after picking “people” up.
