Business Model

Value Proposition: Increasing the dining hall timings, setting up healthier varieties and providing for students with cultural beliefs and dietary restrictions would undoubtedly have a positive impact on students. Students who have a meal plan will start eating healthier food, those with dietary restrictions would also be interested in acquiring a meal plan, thus increasing the user base. Students waste a great amount of time going off-campus to buy food because the dining halls are closed. A student’s meal plan is meant to ensure that students will always be fed. But the meal plan is not satisfying the needs of students on campus. Increasing the timings of the dining halls and setting up better food in the dining Halls would greatly increase the satisfaction of students and staff.

Users: Our population consists of anyone with a meal plan or someone living on campus, which accounts for around 35,000 students. Other users that will be affected in the future include the new freshmen that come in every year who will definitely use the meal plans. The solutions that result in the gains mentioned above will encourage students in the future to come to dining halls more and they, in turn, will save money that would have otherwise been spent on food off-campus.
