January starts a new year, let’s make a new you with New Year, New You: Making YOUR Best Better (targeted at youth in 5th-8th Grades). You will receive a fun swag bag in the mail when you sign up that contains items that relate to the weekly topics. Each week we will have guest speaker(s), activities, and time to talk with other youth when we meet for about an hour. Sessions will be held on Zoom Sundays February 7 – March 14 from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m. See the flyer below for session information. Hurry to register at go.osu.edu/spinnyny! by January 15! Due to the increased spread of COVID-19 across the state, Ohio State University is closing all county Extension offices from December 21 to January 1. At this time, we are planning to reopen the office on Monday, January 4 at 8:00 AM. During this time, all staff will be teleworking and will continue to be available by email or by phone at 330-264-8722. Our office will be closed for the holidays on December 24-25 and January 1. Thank you for your patience at this time.
The deadline for youth who plan to show market beef at the Ohio State Fair to send in their DNA samples has been EXTENDED for 2021 only through Saturday, January 30th, 2021. The Ohio State Fair, OSU Department of Animal Science, and Ohio 4-H will continue to monitor COVID and update us as necessary. Please note that a 4-H Educator must sign off on these envelopes before they are submitted to the Ohio State Fair so please plan accordingly.
Due to the current COVID guidelines from OSU, we will need to move the beef weigh-in originally scheduled for January to March 13, 2021. The backup date for weigh-in will be March 27.
