It’s time for the fall Tractor Supply Paper Clover Drive! The Tractor Supply Paper Clover campaign runs from Oct. 7-18. Customers can purchase a paper clover at checkout and 90% of funds come back to Ohio counties to support scholarships for camp and leadership programs. Donate in the store at checkout or online! Farm Science Review 2020

The Farm Science Review, held on September 22 – 24,  is a virtual event for 2020! The Ohio 4-H STEM in Ag area is hosting virtual field trips, interactive activities and challenges you can participate in from home, and several other topics of interest to 4-H’ers will be offered. Ohio National Poultry Show

This year’s Ohio National Poultry Show, the largest poultry show in the nation, has gone virtual! This gives open and junior exhibitors a new way to compete and still be a part of the Ohio National. Information, including the catalog, can be found by clicking the links below.

The entry deadline is Saturday, October 17, with Class Champions announced Saturday, November 14 and the Show Champion announced Sunday, November 15. Show awards will be mailed the week after announcing the champions. Exploring Agriculture Program

 

The Exploring Agriculture program offers 14-20 year old students various opportunities to explore careers in ag through a series of monthly meetings beginning on September 29.  Click here if you are interested in registering for the Exploring Agriculture program!

Thank You Notes for Buyers and Award Sponsors

Exhibitors selling their animals at the Junior Fair livestock sales MUST send a thank you note to their buyers or they will not receive their livestock checks.  Thank you notes should be delivered to the Extension Office in a stamped, sealed, and completely addressed envelope beginning Monday, September 21 and no later than Thursday, September 24.  

All exhibitors who receive a trophy, plaque, or other award sponsored by a donor are expected to send a thank you note to the sponsor.  Thank you cards will be provided with your award – please turn in your unsealed card to the Junior Fair office by the end of the fair.  The name and address of the sponsor can be found on the award.  If you have trouble locating your award sponsor, please contact the Junior Fair office.

Project Book Judging Rewards

Those 4-H members who submitted their project books for judging by their club advisor will receive a coupon for a free ice cream cone during the fair! If you turned in your livestock or still project book to an advisor for judging, stop at the Junior Fair office to pick up your coupon.

Junior Fair T-Shirts

Wayne County Junior Fair t-shirts will be for sale in the Junior Fair office during the week of the fair.  T-shirts are $18.00 and can be purchased with cash or check – credit/debit card sales are not available at this time.  All proceeds go to offset the costs associated with this year’s Junior Fair!
