Carving New Ideas Workshop Registration Now Open

Every year, Collegiate 4-H at The Ohio State University organizes a weekend workshop called Carving New Ideas (CNI).  This year, the event will be held at Camp Ohio in St. Louisville beginning on November 22nd and ending on November 24th.  This workshop is open to all teen 4-H members across the state.

CNI is a camping opportunity that focuses on critical thinking and program facilitation for 4-H members in grades 8-12.  Campers develop their leadership skills while making new friends from across Ohio and participating in fun activities.  Camp counselors are college students at The Ohio State University.

The cost for registration is $95 and includes a t-shirt and all meals.  Check-in is Friday, November 22nd between 6:30 and 8:00 pm.  Check-out is Sunday, November 24th at 10:00 am.  Registrations are due by October 31, 2024.

Paulding County Junior Fair Board Application Available

We are looking for high school students in Paulding County who have a passion for giving back to the community and ensuring the success of the Paulding County Junior Fair.  If this is you, your child, or someone you think would be interested in joining the Junior Fairboard, please click on the Junior Fairboard Application link below.  Applicants must be in high school and a member of a youth organization in Paulding County (4-H, FFA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts).  The deadline for applications to be received is September 10th.

We are also taking applications for Paulding County Junior Fairboard Advisors.  Adults who are willing to volunteer their time to work closely with our high school youth to ensure the success of the Paulding County Junior Fair are able to apply.  If you are an adult interested in this volunteer opportunity, complete the application linked below titled Paulding County Junior Fairboard Advisor Application.  Deadline to apply is September 10th.

Friends of 4-H Camp Palmer Reverse Raffle

The Friends of 4-H Camp Palmer is holding a Reverse Raffle on Saturday, October 5th at 4-H Camp Palmer in the Recreation Hall.  Doors will open at 5:00 pm with dinner starting at 6:00 pm.  Games will follow dinner.  Tickets are $60 each and only 200 are being sold.  Each ticket includes a catered meal and raffle entry for one guest.  All guests must be 18 or older and have a ticket.  No alcohol will be served on 4-H Camp Palmer property.  The Grand Prize for this event is $1,500!  To purchase tickets, e-mail friendsof4hcamppalmer@gmail.com.

We know everyone is busy this week with fair, but we wanted to post a reminder about 4-H Camp! Registration and health forms are due NEXT Friday, June 21st. Forms can be found here, on the Clover Connection, under 4-H Camp → Applications, Forms, and Registration. We also have printed forms in our OSU Extension booth located in the Extension Hall.

2024 Paulding County Junior Fair Livestock Sale Book Now Available

Now Taking Orders for Processed Chickens and Turkeys

We are excited to be able to offer procesed whole chickens and turkeys this year.  The chickens and turkeys sold have been raised by our very own chicken and turkey exhibitors and are ready for your freezer.  All proceeds raised will be split between all market chicken and turkey exhibitors once the processing expense has been covered.  We are asking for a minimum donation of $10 per chicken and $20 per turkey.  Cash or check will be accepted.  Checks will need to be made out to the Paulding County Agricultural Society.  Chickens will be availalble between the hours of 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Friday, June 14th and 8:00 am to Noon on Saturday, June 15th.  The location for pick-up will be behind the Senior Fairboard office.
We are expecting to have 150 Chickens and 54 Turkeys.  These will be on a first ordered, first to guarantee basis.  If our orders total more than what we have available, we will add your name to our wait list.  If you end up on the wait list, we will contact you to let you know.
