Ryan Phillips is the weekday morning meteorologist for the Owned and Operated NBC station in Miami, Florida. He is in his tenth year at WTVJ and previously worked for ABC affiliates in Fort Myers, Florida and Kearney, Nebraska. He holds the “Certified Broadcast Meteorologist” accreditation from the American Meteorological Society, as well as the “Seal of Approval” from the National Weather Association.
Ryan is a native of nearby Zanesville, Ohio and graduated in 2000 from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Meteorology. For the last five years, through the National Weather Association, Ryan’s family has underwritten a national scholarship for undergraduate meteorology majors. He volunteers for the Humane Society of Greater Miami and works with a Fort Lauderdale-based non-profit focused on ending food insecurity for underprivileged youth, families, and seniors.
