No Screencast today

We are ahead of schedule, so no screencast today. We will start a new topic in the next screencast, the stack!

DL517 computer lab

Yujia, our former TA, had confirmed last year that CCS is working with our launchpad in DL517 computer lab. If you have not been able to run CCS on your computer even after contacting me or your TA then please use the computers is DL517. Yujia saw a problem with CCS in the CL260 computer lab. It might be fixed by now, but to be on the safe side, use DL517.

Eric Oyen’s office hours

I had the wrong office hours for your TA on this website. The correct office hours are:

Class TA: Eric Oyen
Email:
oyen.2@buckeyemail.osu.edu
In person office hour: Mon. 3:00-4:00 pm, DL 725
Zoom office hour: Wed 4:00 -5:00 pm (link, password etc. send via. email)

Small typo in midterm1 statement

At the end of the MT it should have said:  (use 16 bit Signed Int to display the data as decimal numbers). I have corrected this is the online MT1 statement.

Screencast13 is online

This screencast has practice problems useful for MT1. Be aware that the practice problems deal with byte size arrays while the midterm has a word size array, make appropriate changes to take care of this fact.

Asking CSS , Debugging and Code Related Questions via. email

Don’t start your MT shortly before the deadline, because email questions during the weekend might not be answered.  Besides, it is very time consuming and difficult to debug code via. email; it takes a few minutes to show a mistake in-person compared with 7  to 10 emails typically required to debug,  show mistakes and give hints via. email. This process breaks down if more than one student is asking for debugging help at the same time.  In short, ask CCS and Code related questions during office hours.  Remember that besides my office hours, the class TA also has an in-person office hour and an additional zoom hour.
