Approach to MCR

Team F, in partnership with Teams G and C for the Watt’s Science Corporation, is planning on developing an AEV to aid in Columbus’s Smart City Plan.  This AEV will be a bus mounted onto a monorail with the goal of transporting people from Linden, a cut-off community due to their location next to I-71, to and from Easton and Polaris, two of the biggest shopping centers in the Columbus area.  This bus will not only be mounted on a monorail, but will also be completely autonomous and electric.  Therefore, the AEV is eco-friendly as well.  Our Team and the others in Watt’s Science Corporation, will be testing our AEV in a scaled-down version using Arduino and other items available to us.  If we can produce a fully functioning small scale model of this Smart Bus, we can then move on to pitch our idea to the Smart City Columbus Grant Staff and request a grant to implement this in the town of Linden. If we receive the grant, we will then have to keep in mind budget constraints, health and safety issues, along with others in order for our Smart Bus plan to actually work.
