The reflectance sensors mounted on our L-shaped wheel arm measure the distance that our AEV travels in a certain direction. These sensors scan the inside of the wheel with reflective tape on it in order to understand how far the AEV has traveled under certain powers previously programmed by having the Arduino convert the impulses of the sensors to 0.487 inches per mark. This will allow us to code for the AEV to conserve energy based on distances of the track which are slopes or flat.
