We are all teachers, and FAME is your central source in the College of Medicine for tools, resources, and professional development for your role as teacher.
Our mission is to promote the professional development of faculty and scholars within the health professions to create highly effective educators who design innovative curricula, conduct and disseminate scholarly educational research while providing high value to all learners.
Exemplary health sciences education leads to optimal patient care and societal health outcomes.
Professional Development Your Way
FAME presents a variety of programs that promote educator skill development through reflection, peer observation, large group learning and faculty learning communities.
Most programs are taught by faculty subject matter experts within The Ohio State University College of Medicine, including Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Learn at Your Own Pace – Asynchronous Learning
FAME offers various self-paced courses and modules to support the development of teaching skills.
- Introduction to Teaching in Medicine and the Health Sciences – asynchronous course focused on introductory teaching skills for new faculty
- Advancing your Clinical Teaching – asynchronous course focused on teaching students in clinical settings
- Faculty Development For Medical Educators (FD4ME) – a series of modules offered through the ScarletCanvas platform. Topics include Adult Teaching Practices, Dealing with Difficult Students, Introduction to Medical Simulation, and more.
