The Future of 4-H – Carving New Ideas Teen Workshop

It’s time to register for Carving New Ideas! CNI is set for Nov. 15-17 at 4-H Camp Ohio for teens in grades 8-12. Come learn “The Future of 4-H” and meet 4-H’ers from all over Ohio. Find the details at https://ohio4h.org/events/carving-new-ideas-workshop
ONLY 300 TICKETS SOLD!! Each ticket admits TWO people with dinner and you are entered into the drawing to win $10,000!!! There are numerous cash prizes along the way and a $500 Loser’s drawing!! You do not have to be present to win the grand prize, only the loser’s drawing!! Tickets are $100 each and the raffle is on September 14th!! Proceeds made from this raffle go towards improvements for the Junior Fair participants in Shelby County. Past projects include the rabbit/chicken building, improvements to the horse barn, security cameras for the booth building, purchases for non livestock projects and many other small projects that improve the fair experience for our Junior Fair participants. Thank you for considering supporting our youth!!

EXPECTATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS TO SERVE AS A 4-H HEALTH HERO
Be currently enrolled in 4-H and in grades 9-12 at the beginning of the 2019-2020 academic school year.
Be available to serve as a 4-H Health Hero from September 2019 through August 2020 (option to renew membership).
Attend and actively participate in an all-day training session (see training date and location below).
Participate in face-to-face (in Columbus) and virtual meetings.
Complete teaching and/or advocacy activities promoting healthy living at the state level and/or in your community.
Participate in state events, such as the Ohio 4-H Conference, The Ohio State Fair, HealthU, new Health Hero trainings, and/or any other events identified by Extension staff.
Keep up-to-date on 4-H Health Hero activities by consistently checking and responding to communication from program staff in a timely manner.
Be interested in learning about healthy eating, leading an active lifestyle, and other health-related topics.
Be excited to teach others about nutrition, physical activity, mental health, and drug prevention.
Be responsible and trustworthy.
Be passionate about making a difference in your community.
Record activities conducted as a 4-H Health Hero and report to Extension staff.
Actively share the message of Healthy Living within your local 4-H clubs and/or school clubs.
Model healthy eating and physical activity to family, friends, and 4-H members.

Are you or your 4‑H’ er creative or artistic? Upload a photo of your masterpiece for the chance to be selected for 2020 4‑H Youth Artwork calendar and other 4‑H promotional items. All forms of media are accepted – photography, painting, drawings, sculpture – just upload an image of the work of art below. All entrants must an active 4‑H’ er and 18 or under, so don’t forget to ask your parent’s permission!
