Join 4-H teen leaders from across the US in learning about opportunities to pursue national experiences in 4-H!

During this webinar, leaders of national 4-H opportunities will share about programs available for teenage 4-H members, including National 4-H Conference, National 4-H Congress, Citizenship Washington Focus, Leadership Washington Focus, the national summit series (AgriScience, Healthy Living, Photography, and STEM/Maker), the Youth in Action Awards, and the National 4-H Youth Advisory Committee. Hear about program highlights and have a chance to ask questions.

This webinar will be hosted on Zoom and is coordinated by nationwide 4-H faculty and staff dedicated to teen leadership topics.

Future webinars will aim to connect 4-H teen leaders from across the country to share about other opportunities for teens and to build connections.

Ohio 4-H Sea Camp is returning in Summer of 2020 at Kelleys Island 4-H Camp!

Through partnerships of Ohio State University Extension and organizations that offer aquatic education and water recreation, Ohio 4-H Sea Camp at Kelley’s Island has offered hundreds of young people the opportunity to learn about aquatic science and experience a variety of recreational watersports on Lake Erie. Sea Camp is offered to youth ages 14-17.

The mission of Ohio 4-H Sea Camp is to offer teenage youth an introduction to the Great Lakes through hands-on experiences in a variety of aquatic-based programs. Sea Camp will enable participants to experience Lake Erie-based activities and culture such as aquatic science, water recreation, and fishing. The program is a supervised, educational environment fostered by Ohio 4-H and The Ohio State University.

Objectives of Ohio 4-H Sea Camp include:

  1. Participants will gain an understanding of safety applied to watercraft, sun, and open water recreation.
  2. Participants will explore a variety of potential career opportunities through learning from professionals in aquatic science, natural resources, and water-sports.
  3. Participants will gain lifelong skills fostered through educational and recreational water-based activities, while developing lasting friendships and comradery with peers.

2020 Ohio State Fair Beef DNA/EID Tag requirement

The Ohio State Fair requires ALL market beef entered in the 2020 Ohio State Fair to have individual DNA samples taken from EACH animal that may potentially be entered.

These DNA samples must be in the possession of the Ohio State Fair by January 15.

Attached are documents containing sample collection instructions.

Please read the attached instructions that will be a part of each sample collection kit, and contact Stacey French, Agricultural Department at the Ohio State Fair, if you have any questions. Stacey’s phone number is 614.644.4049 and email is S.French@expo.ohio.gov.

NO requests for tags/kits will be taken after January 8th and requests MUST be in writing via email to Stacey French.

DNA sample collection kits may be picked up either by 4-H professionals, FFA advisors, or the actual individual directly from Stacey French on the OSF fairgrounds. Prior to submission, the nomination envelope for each sample kit remitted must be signed by either the 4-H professional or FFA advisor, depending in which organization the youth is taking the market animal(s).

PLEASE CONTACT THE OFFICE A.S.A.P. IF YOU WILL BE NEEDING TAGS/KITS SO WE CAN GET THEM ORDERED.

***Also note that youth showing at any of the BEST sanctioned shows must have EID tags in their calves prior to the first show in which they exhibit. BEST shows prior to the January 15 deadline to submit samples to OSF include: Heart of It All, AGR Holiday Classic, and Scarlet & Gray Midwest Showdown.***
