For our first “In the Field Friday” of 2021, we will be highlighting Faith Mariacher from Lee, New Hampshire. Faith is a current student of CFAES Wooster/ATI where she is majoring in livestock production and management with a specialization in small ruminants. Faith is
currently interning with Hoffman Corriedales in Rockham, South Dakota.
Hoffman Corriedales is a sheep and cattle farm that specializes in Corriedale sheep and have raised many champions. Faith’s responsibilities include working with 350 head of Corriedale sheep and 450 head of commercial Angus cattle. This summer she has been fitting sheep, processing calves, and baling hay. Other daily tasks include feeding and general running of equipment.
Her advice to future students is to never be afraid to take chances and step out of their comfort zones. Faith says, “Don’t underestimate yourself; you could miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime.”
