USINTEC Summer Courses Faculty Members

Dr. Mindi Rhoades and Dr. Kathy Trundle, faculty members in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the Ohio State University, traveled to Indonesia to teach summer courses for the 2013 USINTEC Dual Degree cohort.

Dr. Rhoades returned for the second time teaching in the USINTEC Dual Degree at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). This year, Dr. Rhoades co-taught the course Multicultural and Global Perspectives in Education with Dr. Dwi Anggani Linggar Bharati, professor at the English Teaching program at UNNES Semarang. She also visited USINTEC partners at Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (UNDIKSHA) in Bali and gave talks to teachers and educators in the area.

This year also marked Dr. Kathy Trundle’s 2nd year of teaching USINTEC’s summer course for the Dual Degree program. Dr. Trundle has more than 25 years of experience in science education, teaching at every level from grade six through graduate school. Her course titled Diverse Research Approaches is co-taught with Dr. Ahmad Sofwan, a faculty member in Language Education at UNNES.

The summer courses  in Indonesia is one of the key features in the USINTEC Dual Degree. Students who are enrolled in the program earn credits counted toward their dual degree.  Readers can learn more at www.usintec.org

USINTEC Biannual Meeting in Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) June 28, 2013

USINTEC (U.S./Indonesia Teacher Education Consortium) BI-ANNUAL MEETING will be conducted in Padang June 28, 2013. According to Dr. Ardipal, M.Pd., UNP Vice Rector for Cooperation and Assets Affairs, this is a biannual USINTEC meeting, which means that two times in a year USINTEC partners gather to discuss regular agenda and to make new decisions. This year meeting will be the first USINTEC meeting held outside Java island.  It is a good chance for us (UNP) to conduct such an international meeting. UNP is an active member of this consortium. As the person in charge of the meeting, Dr. Ardipal hopes that this meeting runs well and can give great contribution to all the participants. Read more here

Short Course on Environmental Conservation and Indonesian Culture at UNNES

Semarang State University as a conservation university offers scholarships for prospective students to join short course of Environmental Conservation and Indonesian Culture (See-Conic) for two weeks.
The program will be held on August, 19th – August, 31st, 2013 in Semarang State University.
