Welcome to USINTEC!

The United States – Indonesian Teacher Education Consortium (USINTEC) builds on the 50 year collaboration that The Ohio State University has had with Indonesia. USINTEC was founded by Dr. Sue Dechow at The Ohio State University and memorialized in the first Memorandum of Understanding in March, 2006. USINTEC aims to support access in teaching, research and service in scholarship between Indonesia and the US.

USINTEC was seeded by a grant in Higher education for Development from the US Agency for International Development. Since 2008 scholarships for Indonesians to study in the US have been funded by the Directorate General for Higher Education, Directorate General for Quality Improvement of Teachers and Educational Personnel, Bureau of Planning and International Cooperation, and the American-Indonesian Education Foundation. In 2011 USINTEC developed a dual masters degree for partner universities.
