Time for Change at The Ohio State University would like to acknowledge the territory of the Ohio region as it pertains to the Indigenous tribal nations that have historically laid claim to this land, such as the Shawnee, Ojibwa, Delaware, Wyandot, Eel River, Kaskaskia, Iroquois, Miami, Munsee, Ottawa, Piankashaw, Sauk, Potawatomi, Seneca, Seneca-Cayuga, and Wea Peoples. We acknowledge the historical context that colonialism has had in the forced removal of these tribal nations, and we want to honor their resiliency and continuing legacy as the ancestral and contemporary peoples of this land.

While you are participating in this hiking challenge, please take some time to reflect on the land that you are occupying. Practice active self-reflection in ways that promote cross-cultural learning and anti-bias behaviors.
