Mitigating food waste: An expert panel discussion

Did you know 40% of food in the US is never eaten? Know Food Waste and Citation Needed are hosting a panel of researchers, student leaders and industry leaders fighting food waste for an interactive discussion on food waste, ways to reduce it, ways to increase awareness on the topic, recent initiatives/research at Ohio State related to food waste, and shifts in food waste due to COVID-19. This panel discussion invites speakers from various points along the food supply chain to better understand where food waste is occurring and potential solutions they are working on to fight food waste.
Speakers include Dr. Brian Roe (Van Buren Professor AEDE, Leader of OSU Food Waste Collaborative), TJ Kirby (Food Recovery Network OSU Past President), Dave Daniel (Mid-Ohio Food Bank VP of Operations), Lucy Schroder (SWACO Food Waste Assistant), Christy Cook (Former LeanPath Account Director), and Kari Armbruster (Kroger Zero Hunger Zero Waste Project Manager).

Solve Climate by 2030 Dialogue
This event is hosted by the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center.

This event is a global discussion about Green Recovery, Climate Solutions, and a Just Transition. This event was started by Bard College and invites college and high school-level students to attend a one-night nationwide “Power Conference”, which is to be held on April 6, 2021 (~5PM Eastern). Each state is to hold their own call, featuring speakers from the region who can share a little bit about climate mitigation, environmental justice, and sustainable development, to name a few. The goal of this event is to produce three actionable items for Ohio municipalities to complete by the end of the decade and to continue this dialogue after the event, so there will be a series of follow-up questions to be discussed.
