Upcoming Science Cafe: “Life in the (First) Big City: Neolithic Çatalhöyük, Turkey”

Distinguished University Professor Clark Larsen will present an interactive Science Café on his studies of one of the first large cities, Çatalhöyük in central Turkey, on Wednesday, November 1 at 6:30 pm in the Research Commons (3rd Floor, 18th Avenue Library). Dr. Larsen’s team has studied human remains, household artifacts and ecology to interpret urban life and the impact of plant and animal domestication during the highly dynamic period of 8,000 to 9,000 years ago.
