Westfall Drone Program

We are excited to introduce the new Drone Club Program, an innovative club designed to equip students with cutting-edge tech skills and expand their career horizons. This pilot program offers a unique opportunity for students to explore the fascinating world of drone technology, gain hands-on experience, and develop valuable skills in programming, engineering, and problem-solving.

Elementary STEM Club

OSU Extension, Pickaway County and Teays Valley School District partnered to plan and implement the district’s second annual after-school, elementary-wide STEM Club. The program took place approximately eight times per month—twice a month in each of the four elementary buildings—from 3:30–5:00 p.m. Participation was limited to 30 students per building, engaging both 4th- and 5th-grade learners. A registration fee* was implemented that year, which directly supported students through high-quality programming and STEM take-home projects.

The program has since concluded, but the blog continues to serve as a resource for STEM activities and a highlight of program successes. Visit: u.osu.edu/tvstemclub/about/

Scholastic Drone Racing

The Scholastic Drone Racing Tech Partnership between OSU Extension and Circleville City Schools integrated drone technology into student learning and accelerated STEM engagement and technology career pathways. The program aimed to expand to additional Pickaway County school districts as funding and sponsorships became available.

Although the active program has concluded, the blog remains a valuable resource showcasing drone racing activities, curriculum highlights, and STEM learning opportunities. Visit: u.osu.edu/scholasticdroneracing/
