What are the team’s expectations of quality level? Top goals? Minimum acceptable goals?

Our members are expected to put forth maximum effort in order to receive the highest grade possible (unless complications occur that may hinder the ability to meet expectations. Each member is expected to do their fair share of work and will be held accountable.

- General Team Member expectations
What are team member expectations regarding attendance?
–The expectation of our team members is that they shall attend every lab/class session and all meetings which are scheduled ahead of time. If a team member is to be absent due to complications, they are to notify at least one of the other three team members prior to their absence (extreme situations may be excused).
How are team members expected to behave during lab/class periods?
–During class, our team members are expected to pay attention during lectures, behave properly, and make sure to put forth proper effort worthy of receiving a good grade.
How are team members expected to behave during team meetings? (What are the norms?)
–During team meetings, our team members are expected to give their insight on our current situation, speak up if something they do not like is happening, or if they have any ideas which we can incorporate into our work. Each team member is to be serious, focused, and on the topic during meetings so to make efficient use of time. Once we complete our meetings, one of the four members chosen is to record key points made during the meeting so to be referenced at a later date.
What are acceptable/unacceptable types of interaction?
–Acceptable types of interaction consist of…
– Contributing to team discussion
– Keeping team on the topic
– Giving input on due dates/ideas for improvement
What are team members meant to do between classes? Lab/class preparation?
-Prior to classes, especially prior to labs, each team member is to read the material over enough to the point where they understand what needs to be done before coming to class. All assignments due are required to be done the day they are due, and no late submission of assignments.
How are team members meant to ensure the team stays on track?
–Each team member is required to make sure the team stays on track. If one member starts driving the conversation off topic, it is the other three’s responsibilities to bring it back on track.
How are documents expected to be shared? (e.g. Buckeye Box?)
–Our team mainly uses Google Drive to share documents. Google Drive allows our team to edit, share, and view documents together at the comfort of our homes, or even on campus.
How many days before an assignment is due should everybody have their portion completed for review?
-At the very least, each team member should have their assignments are done 2 days prior to the official due date so that the team may compare, contrast, and give feedback to each team member so that they may be able to produce a more efficient result.
When should team members first notify the group if they are struggling?
–Immediately. If a team member is confused with what they are assigned, confused on due dates, etc, they must IMMEDIATELY work to clear their confusion with the help of their other team members.
- Individual Team Member Responsibilities/Deadlines?
What roles do team members have?
–Dean Mutlak: Primary organizer of team meetings, team documents, and AEV code.
–Michael McCormick: Works to make sure the team is kept on track, meeting deadlines, and works on AEV code.
-Andrew Kroh: Works on the AEV code, and makes sure our AEV design is built correctly and works effectively.
-Michael Zhang: Helps with AEV design, works to help modify AEV when needed.
If deadlines are not met by either of the team members, a warning will be given for missing the first deadline, and if further procrastination is taking place we will make sure to speak to the instructor or TAs about the lack of contribution. Each team member is to be held accountable for their share of the workload, and repercussions will be given out if they do not complete this share.
What tasks are team members in charge of?
Dean Mutlak
–Designing AEV
-Coding AEV
-Setting team schedule
Michael McCormick
-Coding AEV
-Notetaker
Andrew Kroh
–Coding AEV
-Safety Engineer
Michael Zhang
-Designing modifications for AEV
-Keeping team on track
How often will these roles/task rotate?
-We make sure to rotate the assigned tasks and roles every month, or three weeks if situations arise.
- Conflict Resolution
Once the team goals, general member expectations, and individual team member responsibilities have been established, candid, non-threatening discussion must be held when the group or individuals are not meeting the agreed upon terms.
How will team members above be held accountable?
–Our team makes sure to keep track of team member contributions. If a team member is not contributed his/her fair share, we notify the member of how they are not working to our expectations, and if continued poor performance occurs we will notify either the instructor or a TA.
How will team members that are not meeting expectations (not contributing to the team effectively) be addressed?
-We will notify the team member and let them know the problems they are having, and if they continue to not care/put forth low effort, we will notify the instructor/TA.
How will team members that are not interacting appropriately with team members be addressed?
-We will give them two warnings, if both warnings result in no change, we will speak to the instructor or a TA on the individual’s poor performance.
When is it okay to redefine goals, expectations, and responsibilities?
-If things are not working out, progress is poor, and nothing seems to be going well, it is fine to redefine our goals expectations and responsibilities.
When will UTAs, GTAs, or the instructor become involved?
-Only in extreme situations where the other team members have tried their best to solve the problem, but the involvement of a TA or the instructor is necessary.
- Expectations of Faculty and GTAs
We expect the faculty to, when complicated situations arise, assist us in situations where our team is stuck and doesn’t know what to do, or in a situation where the team simply does not work well together and involvement is completely necessary.
- Team Signatures
- Team Reflection
Throughout the past several weeks we have worked together, we have not produced the best work that we know we can make. Our team has not been producing the best of results, and we believe this to be due to unequal contribution from each of the members. We have now modified our team working agreement to try to prevent this from being a continuous issue. Our team will make sure each of the members are motivated and strive to get good grades on their assignments, and on group assignments. Some of the changes we have made to our agreement include modifying conflict resolutions, and elaborating on team contributions, as well as formatting changes. We will make sure that each team member contributes their fair share, and that each member works to put full effort into producing A quality work. We have not worked too great for the first 7 weeks, but we will work to turn that around, and produce quality work for the rest of the semester.
