Team D2

Mission

Team D2 consists of Troy Sayers, Zach Zambile, Cam Perry and Jamey Lee.  We are tasked with designing an Alternative Energy Vehicle (AEV).  We will complete the guidelines that are outlined in the Mission Concept Review (MCR).  We have had two of our employees work together on projects before, including designing a game called Battleship in Mat-Lab.  All of our teammates have had connections with each other and the group has very good chemistry so we believe that we will deliver a high-quality product.   Team D2 is dedicated to delivering high-quality work with an element of safety to best achieve the goals we have set out for the Smart Columbus AEV project.

Our goal is to create the best AEV for the Smart Columbus project.  Specifically, we want our vehicle to be as energy efficient as possible while maintaining the safest conditions possible.

This team is fully dedicated to making the best AEV to their potential.  Our goal is to create the best AEV for the Smart Columbus project.  Specifically, we want our vehicle to be as energy efficient as possible while maintaining the safest conditions possible.  We will bring a good product to the table because we have put a system in place to accomplish our goals.  We have split roles up based on skills and interests.  However, we are still working together and everyone is a part of every aspect of the project.  We expect nothing less than everyone’s full effort and a positive attitude.  We believe that this way of tackling the project is to instill these principles into our team from day one.  This will lead us to our expected success not only for this project but in the class overall.  Everyone on the team is held to a high standard of work ethic and quality.  There are many deadlines to hit.  We have split roles so that responsibilities are shared throughout the team.  We all play an important part in the process for brainstorming and building designs for the AEV.  The individual deliverables will be completed by whoever had the biggest role in completing the task that has to be reported.  This way everyone will have a chance to write what they know the most about.  Then the other three team members will check the work of the other member to make sure that the work is up to the group standard.

The most important aspect of this project is teamwork.  We will all have to share the workload if we want to be successful and the best way to do that is to let people do what interests them.  For example, Troy is very proficient in Solid Works so he volunteered to design different AEVs in the program.  Jamey and Zach both enjoy the coding aspect so they will focus more on that part of the project.  Cam has chosen to assist the team by heading up the website and keeping the team meeting minutes. This does not mean however that our roles are rigid.  In fact, we encourage each other to swap responsibilities from time to time to make sure that everyone is getting exposed to every part of the project.  This will, in our opinion, make our project more successful and enables us to see what every team member does so that we understand the project better and recognize the importance of each member’s contributions.
