Every meeting we took notes about what we need to in the future and what we did during the meeting.
Meeting Notes 1
Meeting #1:
Day/Time/Place: 1-3 P.M. on 1/15/19 in the engineering 1182 room.
Members Present: All members of group B2 were present.
Agenda:
Completed the team working agreement. Assigned roles of each person in the group. Designated every Tuesday to have a meeting from 1-3 P.M. in the engineering room and to add more as needed. team B brainstormed about how to minimize the total energy use in this project. While discussing this, team B tried to think of ways to make the propellers turn 360 degrees so that they could push the cart in the opposite direction. Cameron researched and helped build optional ideas for the Advanced Energy Vehicle, also known as an AEV. Jacob wrote the meeting notes and helped in building. Payne asked questions to the group about the project and made sure that everyone knew what they had to do before next meeting. Brandon started working on the code and made sure that the battery/motors worked correctly.

Tuesday meeting.
Meeting Notes 2
Day/Time/Place: 1:30-2:50 P.M. on 1/17/19 in the engineering 1182 room.
Members present: All members of group B2 were present.
Agenda:
Brandon Worked on the code for the Arduino to test to make sure it all worked well. This allowed the group to familiarize with the code. Jacob, Cameron, and Payne all worked on putting together the test AEV for the lab class.
Plans for next Meeting:
Complete each individuals ideas about the AEV by next Tuesday.
Meeting Notes 3
Day/Time/Place: 1-3 P.M. on 1/22/19 in the engineering 1182 room.
Members Present: All members of group B2 were present.
Agenda:
Every group member brought in there rough draft that the whole group had to have done for today. Brandon completed the arduino code before today also. While in the meeting he worked on reflecting sensors. The rest of the group attached the reflecting sensors onto the AEV. Team B decided to make a part that will go on to the motor and connect with the servo so that it can turn the propeller around to push the opposite direction. Team B also decided to have a third wheel that will be used with a motor to turn so the AEV would have another way of propelling itself, and this would also help with braking. Team B completed the external sensors test and it ran well. The first time the motors were turned the wrong way so Brandon then had to reverse the code to fix the issue. Jacob, Cameron, and Payne all tested the AEV on the test track after Brandon finished the code and it ran fine.
Before Next meeting:
Every member has to have a detailed plan of their ideas for Thursday’s lab so that the whole team can vote on a design. Also, the whole group will be working on updating the website that the group needs to have updated by Thursday.

Day/Time/Place: 1:30-2:50 P.M. on 1/24/19 in the engineering 1182 room.
Members Present: All members of group B2 were present.
Agenda:
Team B discussed what the group thought of each person’s individual ideas of what they thought the AEV should be. Between us all, there was certain things each design had that the whole group liked so the group decided to join all the good factors into one design and add a belt and chain as a source of power to the third wheel that team B is using. Team B also decided that team B will have the servo motor attached to the one motor that team B will be using to push the cart underneath so that the servo can turn the propeller different directions. The other motor will be operating with the belt and gears to make the cart move more efficiently and stop easier using the third wheel. The minimum power on the motor is 11% to rotate. Concept screening and scoring was done in class by the whole group.

Make sure that the whole team put a summary of each meeting on the web page. Work on progress report to keep ahead.

Day/Time/Place: 1-3 P.M. on 1/29/19 in the engineering 1182 room.
Members Present: All members of group B2 were present.
Agenda:
Finish working on the summary of each meeting on the webpage. Team B also each completed individual descriptions of each of the team member’s designs on the webpage so that the team’s ideas and the concepts they were based off of could be shown.

All members of the group need to continue to update the online web page to insure that everything on the website is updated.

Day/Time/Place: 1-3 P.M. on 2/4/19 in the engineering 1182 room.
Members Present: All members of group B2 were present.
Agenda:
Team B put together the design of the AEV that the group had created as a group and then in the rest of the time, just added stuff to the online web page. The team decided that the AEV the group will be using would make more sense to have 2 wheels instead of 3. Both of the excel score sheets of each member’s AEV design was also completed in this meeting.
Before Next Meeting:
Finish up website for now, order/make materials for the AEV, and work on the progress report.

Day/Time/Place: 1:30-2:50P.M. on 2/7/19 in the engineering 1182 room.
Members Present: All members of group B2 were present.
Agenda:
Each team Decided what to work on in the advanced R and D. Team A is doing Battery testing and motor configuration. Team B is doing Alternative Propulsion and Materials testing. Team C is doing servo testing and propeller configuration. Team D is doing Energy and Braking testing. All of Team B went through the website and took out all of the links, and put the actual information in.

Finish the progress report by Friday night and continue to fix the website.

Agenda:
Team B worked on material testing experiment and the grant proposal slides. The whole team decided that Jacob would be speaking during this presentation. Team B gathered the materials for materials testing.

Have the presentation ready for the grant proposal.

Day/Time/Place: 1:30-4:30P.M. on 2/14/19 in the engineering 1182 room.
Members Present: All members of group B2 were present.
Agenda:
The whole team worked on a code to run the materials testing. In order to do this, the team created a general AEV model to use to run the code and test each material. In this test for each material, the team accelerated the AEV for a certain amount of time, then had the AEV come to a brake. Then had it reverse for a certain amount of time. The team found out that the test track is 21 feet long.

Revise the Team Working Agreement.

Today the whole team completed most of the materials testing and finished updating the team working agreement.

Finish the materials testing before next meeting and gather all parts for the alternative propulsion segment of the two different tests that the group has to do.

Agenda:
The whole team finished up the actual testing of the Materials for materials testing and worked on organizing the data and how to compare them. The team also started working on progress report 2. Team B measured the masses of the different materials today. ABS- 27g, MDF 59g, Polypropylene 33g, and Acrylic-37g.

Analyze all the results for Materials Testing and document everything found and then convert this info into the Advanced Research and Development presentation.

Agenda:
Jacob drilled into the 3-D printed objects to make sure they had the correct size of a hole for actually working with the gears. Payne and Cameron put together the actually AEV for the final project and then began alternative propulsion testing. Brandon worked on the materials testing report so that it was all finished up and then the whole team could really focus on alternative propulsion.

Balance out the AEV for the alternative propulsion test on Thursday.

Team B worked on updating the website and working on the next progress report and postponed the presentation practice back a week because the presentation was pushed back till after spring break is over. This gives more time to complete updating the website and finish the next progress report.

In this lab, Team B fixed the issues with the progress report, continued finishing the slides, and updating the website. The team also applied the new sensors to the new 3d printed wheel that was printed so that the sensors could still be measured because they were too far from the actual sensors attached to the AEV.

Finish the slides and prepare for practice for the presentation tomorrow.

Team B worked on the code for performance test 2 and determined what we were going to be testing during this test.

Study for the lab proficiency quiz on Thursday. Also have the code ready and test it more for the 2nd performance test.

Team B2 worked on testing the second performance testing code again to make sure it was good. There was some issues with the code so the team tried to figure out the code that would work correctly. The whole team discovered that bigger washers are needed.

Test the code multiple times before the second performance test to make sure it is consistent.

The group completed performance test 2 and right after that, started working on 3.

Run the code a couple more times to make sure it is consistent so that it is ready for final performance testing.

Team B decided to try out rubber bands to see if it would help the AEV grip the monorail easier. This did not help out like it was thought to.
