Summary
The goal of this activity was to make use of a program we had been provided with called the “AEV Data Analysis Tool”. This tool, when code has been uploaded to the vehicle, will print out a variety of data showing variables over time/distance. Below is a chart showing the amount of power consumed over a specific distance for our advanced energy vehicle.
Initial AEV Power vs Distance Plot
In the chart shown above, the data recorded from the Data analysis tool has been compiled into a plot. The curve on the plot represents the amount of power our AEV has consumed over the specific distance the AEV covered. The power consumed is on the y-axis, and the distance covered is on the x-axis.
In the chart above, the data provided from the Analysis tool has been compiled to show how the power consumed by our AEV is affected over distance traveled. The power consumed is on the y-axis, and the distance traveled is on the x-axis. As shown in the chart, the amount of power consumed over the given distance is variable. The amount of power consumed depends on what the AEV is doing at the specific distance, such as if it is braking, running, or simply coasting with the motors off.
Takeaways
Team C engineers have learned how useful the Data Analysis Tool is, and how they can continue use it to start a process of trial and error in order to create the most efficient AEV which meets the team members set of expectations.
