Evolution of Designs

In this section, the designs and their evolutions are documented. For more details as to why the designs were chosen, please see laboratory experiments 3 and 5.

Servo:

After the advanced research and development, it was determined that a servo arm would be beneficial to save energy (see lab 7 for details). Because of this, the two designs going forward were switch to being the Group’s design, as well as the Group’s design with the addition of a servo arm.

Final Design:

After the first performance tests, it was determined that the final design would not include the servo arm. This is due to the fact that when completing the tests with the servo arm, the AEV would pop off the tracks; thus, eliminating the possibility of successfully completing the tests. Please see the “Final AEV Design” tab for specifics of the final design.
