Through trials and research, group G perfected an AEV design. The strengths of the design are highlighted below.
Time Efficiency:
Group G’s AEV consistently completed the tests under 1 minute. Having an average of approximately 55 seconds, this AEV is a fast and efficient option to transport people from Linden to Polaris Parkway.
Safety:
While the AEV moves quickly and efficiently, it also runs safely. The simple layout of the AEV base allows for it to be balanced once the battery is secured. Group G’s AEV safely passed every test – scoring perfect in the safety category every run.
Cost Effectiveness:
Group G focused on having a low cost design, so that it could spend more money on energy to ensure the safety and success of the AEV. They did this by having a simple base, as well as using no extra, custom pieces made. Pictures of the design can be found under the “Final AEV Design” tab. The capital costs were only $159,600.
