Post-Doctoral Scholar Position: Translational Research/Community Practice

The College of Education and Human Ecology’s Center on Education and Training for Employment (CETE) at The Ohio State University (OSU) seeks a postdoctoral practitioner/researcher in the areas of equity and inclusion, community engagement and/or evaluation. This position is situated within CETE’s Equity, Engagement and Evaluation program area. This post-doctoral scholar position focuses on training and experiences that will prepare a practitioner/researcher to function in a variety of applied positions in areas such as local education, health and social services organizations; government agencies; university based, applied research centers; nonprofit organizations; and foundations.

CETE has a long history of assisting such organizations in completing projects consistent with standard definitions of translational research and community practice. In addition, CETE is committed to its Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) Movement designed to increase our efforts in workforce development, education and family and community engagement toward the pursuit of a holistic approach to equity, social justice and inclusion. The post-doctoral scholar will have ample opportunity to be involved in REDI Movement work and to utilize associated tools. Another major focus of the post-doctoral scholar role will include conducting or assisting in conducting formal program evaluations. Finally, the post-doctoral scholar will actively engage in CETE’s translational research program designed to investigate topics of interest to translational researchers and community practitioners.

Specifically, the post-doctoral scholar will be a key contributor to the Equity, Engagement and Evaluation program team’s mission to assist organizations and communities to achieve desired outcomes in an efficient and effective manner via the following responsibilities:

  1. Designing and delivering professional development, technical assistance, facilitation and coaching
  2. Contributing to implementation and evaluation of CETE’s Racial Equity Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) Movement (both internally and externally)
  3. Designing and managing the implementation of translational research and evaluation projects and deliverables to guide partners’ efforts to plan, implement and evaluate strategies/interventions to achieve desired outcomes
  4. Documenting deliverables achievement for project sponsors and internal and external partners via reports, presentations and scholarly products
  5. Fostering and maintaining relationships with multiple, diverse, internal and external stakeholder groups
  6. Contributing to resource development activities including grant writing
  7. Representing CETE and the Equity, Engagement and Evaluation program team at meetings and other interactive forums
  8. Collecting, reporting and implementing best and research-based practices related to relevant (minoritized/vulnerable) project populations
  9. Other duties as assigned

The length of the appointment is one year with the possibility for renewal. Post-doctoral scholars receive a competitive salary, benefits and tuition support. Partial remote work for this position is a possibility.
